About Dennis Deacon

I am an web professional living in the Windy City. Formerly a Search Product Manager for a major financial institution, my professional interests include web/interface design, user experience & usability, search, search engine optimization (SEO) & search engine marketing (SEM).

I am currently unemployed (due to reduction in workforce) and looking for work, either a full- time opportunity, or contractual work that will challenge me and my skillset.

For the past 14 years, I’ve worked in roles related to online content delivery and management, for both the Internet and intranets. I have been involved with building an online training portal, developed the presentation of content for internal communications, administered the Google Search Appliance for internal content retrieval, and managed product development within the search space at a global financial institution. Throughout this timeframe, I’ve also designed and developed websites for small businesses, primarily in the Travel/Tourism industry. During my non-professional hours, I try to hit the bike trails, cast a line, take a mean picture, search out good eats, and travel regionally and across the states whenever possible.
